Anyone who has played any GTA since the 3D era knows that feel.
When you search for a specific car and it just won’t spawn anywhere, not even in the common locations. And then when you do something completely different they spawn all over the place. As if the game knows you are searching for that specific car. Thank you Houser!

It hasn’t been the same since the top down days.

Every fucking time. It happened to me whenever I was playing Vice City and was in a position where I couldn’t just get out and switch cars.

It’s the oddity of the GTA spawn system: it spawns cars similar to yours. It’s rather annoying.
If I'm looking for a specific car I go find a GTA wiki for it because a lot of the rarer cars actually have fixed spawn locations, or a certain spot where they will eventually spawn. For instance in GTA 5 there's a spot where the Rolls Royce look alike always spawns

L. A. Noire. Drove me absolutely bonkers because there are a lot of sub-models similar to one another, and a lot of 30s-40s cars look very similar from a distance.

I miss kill frenzies, the tank was my favorite.

This does not apply to the rarer police cars tho, i.e. the Police Buffalo and unmarked Cruiser. In SP there are basically only two ways to get hold on one of these. You can get the unmarked in one of the weed missions where it is parked in front of the Power Wagon. Doesn’t quite work when you have 100% completion tho. Only other way that I know of is the train station under the freeway where it rarely spawns driving around during the night. Problem is the spawn is 100% random as the Buffalo, the police Van and normal police cars can spawn too.

I still think it should have been Midnight Club L.A. Noire instead of the boring mess it was. I mean why else would one make a map this big and put in all those licensed 1930s and 1940s cars? It has more cars than pretty much all NFS games ffs!

I loved motorcycles but I often killed myself with them.

I will admit outright being a gangsta would have had some potentials that being Abuse of Authority Man left unexplored.

Ah. I didn’t know the Buffalo was even a thing.
Could you go old school and get a 4 star and steal one from a cop?

Same here.

I have never seen one of these during a police chase, tends to be the FIB Buffalo if anything.

IKR. There was this huge ass City with literally nothing to do in. You couldn’t even mow over pedestrians in your baller Duesenberg.

That’s what street mode was for, mostly. Shenanigans without a wrecked case score.

Still couldn’t mow over peds.

I don’t know if you played Saints Row IV, but there was a very funny bit in that of your character trapped in a simulated stereotype ‘50s America in which (until the simulation starts to break down) you can’t even leave the road while driving. “Press R trigger to accelerate safely”. “Press L trigger to brake for stop signs”.

Its Saints Row duh.

The only time I used the motocycles (due to always dieing) was to jump that ramp to the island to get the tank.

I used to just drive them close to people and leap off and try to kill them with rockets. Not always effective but always entertaining.
